Important Update: No PAT from 2024–25 Onwards

Starting from the 2024–25 session, the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) has been discontinued. Admissions will now be based on the marks obtained in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality & Residency

Must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.
Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is mandatory at the time of counseling. Provisional admission may be granted upon submission of PRC application receipt and an undertaking to submit the final PRC within 60 days. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the seat.

Educational Qualification

Must have passed the HSLC or equivalent examination in a single sitting, with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects.
Candidates must have passed both Theory and Practical examinations in Mathematics and Science individually.

Minimum Average Percentage in Mathematics and Science

General/OBC/MOBC: 40%
SC: 35%
ST: 33%

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 16 years old as of December 31, 2025.
There is no upper age limit.

Application Fee

₹300 plus applicable bank charges.
